ibogaine a unique plant medicine

After many years researching what takes us into our natural state of happiness I came to the conclusion that our interactions with the plant world and nutrition that we can obtain from plants are absolutely key elements. The plants that we are naturally designed to eat, even fruits, have undeniable effects on our neural system and the way we experience life. Psychoactive plants, used in a considered way, have been an intrinsic part of the human journey.

Unfortunately, during our journey as the human species, we have veered off track of naturally happy lifestyles in many ways. It’s as if, in today’s world, we have forgotten what makes us happy and healthy, and what our true needs and nature are. Or the world does not support them. It’s understandable that many humans are now self-medicating with chemical substances as well as artificially processed plant chemicals just to get through the day. Because these substances are just substitutes for what people really need, they never quite get anyone to where they want to go. They put their systems out of balance, so they can lead to addiction. Addiction can be defined a person’s uncontrollable attachment to the use or abuse of any substance or activity.

Healing miracles in our time.
I have set up just set up a new website www.ibogainestates.com  to share knowledge of the incredible healing power plants, nutritionally and medicinally. It is focused on the unique healing plant medicine, ibogaine, because of ibogaine’s unique powers to reset the biochemistry of brain and give an individual a fresh start. In particular it is ibogaine’s power as an addiction interrupter that has given it a growing reputation for giving people their lives back. Freeing people from compelling but harmful behaviour.
We are reaching out to those people caught up in the cycles of addiction and trauma and also loved ones who are trying to help. Addiction can not only be to substances if course, but to all kinds of activities and behaviours. This site is intended to be a resource for dealing with addiction and healing trauma in general, by a variety of means.

I believe that everyone is searching for a real sense of connection and being alive. All this work is about  learning how to gaining a vibrant sense of connection to life in a healthy, happy and sustainable way. Addiction is increasing rapidly in the modern world and the classic treatments of rehab and meetings are not achieving the success rates people had hoped. It seems that a situation has arisen in the world that really can only be healed with plant medicines. This is spoken about in world mythologies, for example in the Huichol tradition of Mexico, good plant medicines are brought in to replace the bad drugs. There is much beauty in the process. You can rise from a state of quiet desperation to a vantage point beyond even that you had imagined – and sustain it, and live from it.

taste of victory

How ayahuasca can break addiction's grip on the brain with Gabor Mate.

Being not seen, we cover up and lose connection.  Gabor Mate defines addictive behaviour as that which has negative consequences yet a person is compelled to pursue it. An addicted person is trying to get the feelings and sense of connection, that we all want, from a substance or damaging activity.

The part of brain whose job it is to provide pleasure and reward, pain relief and a sense of connection is stimulated by the substance or activity.  If you have never had these feelings satisfactorily in any other way, it will be very difficult to give it up.
Ayahuasca in context can help.  It shows you the psychological baggage you have carried all your life and you no longer see it as inevitable part of yourself. The interpretation you have made of world can drop away, you are shown your true potential.

People need this taste of victory.

iboga 101

"Ask a Bwiti tribesman to define iboga and he may talk of a super sentient being whose role is to guide humanity, accessibility to whom is threatened by the world’s increasing demand for its earthly expression.

Ask a recovering heroin addict the same question and they may describe a knockout punch from a velvet glove that renders dope sickness a bad memory. Answers from first world twenty-somethings seeking the latest kick may range from “something that just made me vomit for 15 hours” to “a life changing sacrament that smashed open my consciousness and lifted the veil on the true nature of existence.”

Nowadays, whether due to publicized celebrity rehab sessions, psychonauts seeking the latest thing, or simply the widening of mankind’s spiritual void, iboga is out of the closet. As iboga’s popularity grows, so does the confusion regarding what iboga is, what it is not, and what purpose the different products on the market best serve. The following information will attempt to address the latter while remaining mindful that the ineffable mysteries of it’s subject combined with the highly personal nature of the user experience render certain assertions herein to be subjective."

protect your spirit

they have entered the reality of the already dead”
"protect your spirit because you're in the place where spirits get eaten"
and a very perceptive and subtle point about 'drunken indians' which I think is highly applicable in modern society regarding addiction.. They couldn't participate in the system that was imposed on them while their natural lifestyle was ripped from them.  The growing addiction problem may turn out to be a major impetus for change.
"without them we wouldn't be here today"

smart recovery

Unfortunately unhealthy substance addiction is a worldwide epidemic.  The comforting news is that if you're in it, you are not alone. Smart recovery are  a highly recommended organisation who help with motivation, dealing with urges, thoughts, feelings and behaviours and leading a balanced life.  They do not prescribe beliefs about the nature of life, leaving these to the individual, but have a practical approach.  They are funded primarily by donation.

http://www.smartrecovery.org/

"Fortunately for me, SMART doesn’t simply say “abstain and then lean on the program” but rather offers each person a set of science-backed tools, approaches, and resources to choose from. Some of these fall into the category of mindfulness. Others derive from Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) research and themselves have additional acronyms. But don’t be scared off by the alphabet soup; most of the techniques are straightforward. A lot of them come down to what some people call “reality checking” and simply involve bringing some rational questions and ways of thinking to the unexamined assumptions and irrational conclusions that can get us into trouble. It may take some practice to implement the tools, but they are accessible and the community offers wisdom and support along the way.
Navigating an emotional and cognitive terrain landscaped across years of using drinking as an all-occasion coping mechanism was and remains crucial—not just to hanging onto my status as a nondrinker but to thriving as a happy nondrinker. And the point of changing, as well as its reward, is not abstaining for its own sake but to live a richer, better life. It’s possible I would have figured some of this out on my own—or not—but SMART made the process a lot more pleasant." Elspeth

iboga nights

ibogaine molecule

British documentary about the amazing healing power of iboga/ibogaine, a powerful remedy for addiction and trauma as well as having other psychotherapeutic benefits. Recommend that treatment be done under the care and medical supervision of an an experienced professional licensed provider, in order for it to be both safe and effective.  This film is gripping viewing and also very informative.

IBOGA NIGHTS from David Graham Scott on Vimeo.

An important point to make is that while ibogaine can shift addiction and trauma, there is more work to be done afterwards to make a fulfilling life.

are humans addicts?

I suspect that it is part of human nature to be addicted.  We crave ecstatic connection and to fulfil our destinies.   The important thing is to get these addictive qualities healthily tuned so that the human experiences beautifully described below are enhanced not sabotaged.  Immersion in the bioelectric magnetic aura of he earth and naturally entheagenic nutrition  are a couple of major things that align our desires to our true happy nature.

from http://beat.drugabuse.com/the-thief-7-things-addiction-steals-from-us/

“Addiction is much more than a psychological or physical reliance on substances or behaviours; it’s a physical, emotional and spiritual issue that puts blinders on our perspective, corrodes our value systems, and compromises our ability to prioritize normally.”
Over time, as addicts or loved ones, addiction becomes the most important priority. And in order to continue fueling its demanding and ravenous needs, we must sacrifice other important aspects of our lives.

relationship - the way in which two r ore concepts, objects, or people are connected, or the state of being connected.

success - the accomplishment of an aim or purpose

time - the indefinite progress of existence and events in the past, present and future, regarded as  a whole

gratitude - the quality of bieing thankful, readiness to show appreciation for and return kindness

happiness - the state of being happy

hope - a feeling of expectation ands desire for a certain thing to happen

spirituality - a sense of connection to divine intelligence and purpose

I would also add novelty - humans love new experiences and to experiment, this takes the courage and wherewithal to operate outside our familiar scenarios.

rite of passage

Ibogaine takes the human who journeys with it into a  deep revelatory experience, a review of life situations including traumas, with the necessary detachment to process them.  Its addiction healing powers were first discovered in the industrialised world accidentally and serendipitously in 1962  by New Yorker Howard Lotsof, who is featured in this documentary.  He was addicted to heroin at the time, took a dose of ibogaine (estimated to be about 500 mg) for fun then realised he had lost interest in drugs and had a new life path.

Ibogaine has been traditionally extracted from the bark of the iboga plant by the Bwiti people in Gabon.  Nowadays there are alternative ways of producing it too.

It is the only known effective treatment for several addictions.  Perhaps because it offers a true rite of initiation; the experience and connection that is being truly sought. The way it, within hours, relieves withdrawal symptoms and addiction is becoming widely known.  It is important to take initiatory doses of ibogaine in safe conditions (there are treatment centres around the world) and also move forward afterwards into a new phase of life because that is what is really being sought in a rite of passage.
